The presence of flowers triggers happy emotions, heightens feelings of life satisfaction and affects social behavior in a positive manner.
I paint something everyday, often just a quick wet-on-wet-sketch in my watercolour books.
"To see the world in a grain of sand
and heaven in a wildflower,
hold infinity in the palm of your hand
and eternity in an hour."
"We need to find God, and he cannot be found in noise and restlessness. God is the friend of silence. See how nature - trees, flowers, grass - grows in silence; see the stars, the moon and the sun,
how they move in silence ...
We need silence to be able to touch souls."
"A flower does not think of competing to the flower next to it.
It just blooms."
I use different styles of watercolour painting, but I often favor fluid strokes and hazy backgrounds to clean, crisp lines and defined edges. So I think I am a "loose painter".
Someone said: "A loose painting is just trying to communicate visually with suggestions rather than trying to describe everything in precise detail." I couldn´t say it better myself.
Painting Fast and Loose - that is what suits my personality best. It means that I must also carefully prepare for what is going on on the paper when the colour is very wet and runs out of order if I do not know what I want the result to be.
This watercolour with autumn flowers in a greenhouse is an example of "fast and loose" technology, which I often use when trying to catch the soul of nature.
